There are so many people out there who can’t seem to figure out why they can’t maintain the ideal fitness and good health even if they’re physically active and they eat well. However, what you must know is that fitness and good health can only be achieved if you acknowledge the fact that there are some little things out there that you often forget but can actually be a major determining factor.
1 – Lack of Sleep
Energy is something the body needs and can never live without. The best way to keep and maintain energy in the body to be used for physical activities is to get enough sleep every single night. However, if you fail to give your body the rest it deserves through sleep, you end up losing energy the next morning. What happens then is that if the body does not have enough rest, you will find it difficult to perform the usual physical activities you do every day because you don’t have enough energy to perform them in the first place. And when you skip on exercise and the daily activities that make you burn fat, you end up gaining weight.
2 – Problems with your Digestion
The body’s digestive system is one of the most overworked. If it happens that something is wrong with the system, you could end up seeing your fitness goals hindered. The digestive system is so important because all the food you eat will have to go through it before becoming useful for energy and growth. But suffering from a specific type of digestive system problem like irritable bowel syndrome might very well lead to a lot of confusion in your body, and in this case, it might not be able to process food and nutrients the way it is supposed to. For this condition, you could be converting your food into waste and the nutrients in them will no longer be absorbed. Without the necessary nutrients your body needs, you lose weight and lose it fast. If you don’t want to lose a lot of weight and look like you haven’t eaten for weeks, then go ahead and find some kind of irritable bowel syndrome treatment.
3 – You Have Flat Feet
As much as you hate to believe it, but having flat feet could actually deter or slow down your progress when it comes to fitness. You go ahead and ask a physical therapist and you’ll get the same thought. If you don’t know it yet, having flat feet results to depression in the arches, which in turn could affect knee and ankle alignment. The ultimate effect is ankle and knee pain, which obviously will affect your ability to perform at your maximum level physically.
